Efficiency NS Instant Saving Programs; Spring 2023 Retail Campaign in Store EngagementPosition: Energy Efficiency Event RepresentativeJob Type: Part-time, Contract, Customer EngagementEvent Dates: Weekends April 15 - May 28Locations: Various Retail Locations in New Minas, NS- See the Chart listed at the bottom of the Job PostingHourly Wage/ Pay Structure: $16/hourJob SummarySummerhill is dedicated to developing, implementing, and managing public engagement and market transformation programs that lead to measurable improvements in energy savings.We seek outgoing, energetic, and dynamic individuals to join our team as Event Representatives for our latest New Minas, Nova Scotia events. The Efficiency Nova Scotia Instant Savings Campaign (running from April 15 -May 28) will be promoted in-store at select retailers across the province. The events will take place on various weekends in the campaign period to promote the campaign.Efficiency Nova Scotia’s Instant Savings Program is delivered by Summerhill Group and aims to: make customers and retailers aware of energy efficiency opportunities; encourage customers to take action by purchasing and installing energy-efficient products; increase demand for energy-efficient products; and increase the availability of energy-efficient products at retailers.The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, an enthusiastic disposition, and will have a genuine interest in the environment and energy conservation.Job Responsibilities

  • Educate customers on energy efficiency choices and related product knowledge (training will be provided)
  • Facilitate events at store level
  • Set up and wrap up the event/area booth
  • Track program participation, collect customer information electronically, and submit all reporting to the appropriate lead in a timely manner.
  • Receive event materials.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Coordinate with the appropriate lead if additional POP is needed.
  • Complete paid training
Job Qualifications/ Requirements
  • Knowledge of email and internet applications
  • Written skills; ability to log information accurately
  • Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable talking to new people and adjusting communication style as needed
  • Strong verbal communication skills in English
  • Able to remain in a standing position for the duration of the shift (typically 6 hours)
  • Access to a computer with internet
  • Friendly and professional manner and appearance
Working Conditions
  • Move equipment and materials weighing up to 20 lbs during the set and takedown of the event.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for the duration of the shift
Shift Times9:30-10 am Set-up (30 Min)10 am-3 pm Event (5 Hours)3:00-3:15 pm take-down (15 Min)Reporting at home after each shift (15 Min) – If two reps work an event together, only one will claim the extra 15 min. for reporting.Paid training (mandatory for all new and returning reps)Region: New MinasJob Contact Information*Please submit a resume and a short cover letter.
