SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:Reporting to the Corporate Environmental Health and Safety (E,H amp;S) Manager, the Corporate Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator will be responsible for providing support to management and employees while implementing safety excellence program elements, and overseeing E,H amp;S documentation, and training programs.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support the Construction Site Supervisors, Foreman and Workers with E, H amp;S related guidance.
  • Identify hazards and take action to protect others in the workplace.
  • Provide various Health and Safety training to employees.
  • Develop safety training programs and E,H amp;S procedures, and policies, as needed.
  • Participate in JHSC Meetings.
  • Assist in the development of Lessons Learned documentation and toolbox talks.
  • Assist with incident reports and investigations, as directed.
  • Ensure compliance with OHSA and other relevant E,H amp;S related legislation and regulations.
  • Communicate with and provide advice to E,H amp;S Manager on safety-related matters.
  • Ensure responsibilities and accountability are carried out safely following E.S. Fox Limited safety policy/procedures, COR Standards, ISO 45001 standards and OHSA requirements.
  • Maintain safety Excellence Group requirements, as directed.
  • Assist with the development of Site-Specific Safety/Environmental Plans (SSSP/SSEP), as required.
  • Assist with the Pre-Qualification Questionnaires, as required.
  • Assist with disability management files and return-to-work paperwork.
KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Community College diploma in Occupational Healthamp; Safety Technology, or the equivalent
  • Certificate of Recognition (COR) certificates of training.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft (Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point).
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Legislation, and applicable codes or regulations.
  • NCSO, CRSP or CHSC certifications an asset.
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Environmental, Health and Safety.
  • Training and experience in health, safety, and/or environmental auditing.
  • Experience with COR requirements and WSIB.
  • Superior organization and time management skills and keen attention to details are essential.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to recognize trends and patterns in reports generated.
  • Strong information-gathering and report writing skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to evaluate case information.
  • Superior ability to communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external clients, at various levels, in both group and one-on-one settings, both verbally and in writing.
