Job Description

Rolesamp; Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints and schematics to determine work procedures.
  • Dismantle machines using tools necessary.
  • Update inventory count as items are used for tasks and repairs.
  • Assist in machinery installation when needed.
  • Adhere to assembly and installation instructions set forth in vendor manuals.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on various machinery, tools, and equipment.
  • Fabricate new machine parts if original parts are missing or damaged.
  • Identify and correct problems found in machines, equipment, or processes in order to facilitate production.
  • Repair machinery components as needed.
  • Complete and update assigned work orders daily.
  • Update asset data regularly.
  • Diagnostics and repairs on motors, pumps, valves, controls, PLC #39;s, and metal fabrication equipment.
  • Work on a wide range of projects.
  • Assist in training, directing, and supervision of junior employees and apprentices, inspecting and certifying their work.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.
  • Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills,amp; Abilities
  • Licensed Journeyman Millwright.
  • Experience in moving, assembling, disassembling, troubleshooting, and repairing various types of machinery and equipment, especially metal forming equipment.
  • Ability to detect, isolate, and identify irregularities and malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Able to fabricate new parts to replace defective parts during machine setup, maintenance, or overhaul.
  • Thorough knowledge of load bearing capabilities of the equipment to be installed, assembled, or dismembered.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with quality standards.
  • Accurate and highly analytical.
  • Electrical experience is an asset.
  • Experience in supervising and mentoring apprentices.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
Working Conditions
  • Travel may be required.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Commercial/Industrial environment.
  • Manual dexterity required to use necessary tools.
  • Exercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards.
  • Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).
  • Long periods of standing.
  • Overtime as required.
