Job Description

Brandt Truck Riggingamp; Trailers is currently seeking a Shop Foreman for our Nisku, AB location. This position is responsible for assisting with coordinating and directing the workload of the Manufacturing Department for maximum efficiency and productivity while providing quality repair work; advise and make recommendations to the Manufacturing Manager regarding technician skills and training needs.Dutiesamp; Responsibilities

  • Focus on the production schedule of Upfitting in the shop and ensure all BOM #39;s are organized Kitted and put in front of the Techs to minimize manufacturing/assembly hours, Minimize Chassis Dwell time in the bays and ensure consistency of builds and Quality assurance
  • Organize and plan component and parts flow through the Manufacturing assembly area to maximize production and reduce hours per build
  • Ensure performance of all final inspections and testing of the builds out of the shops to ensure Quality control
  • Assists with the assignment of jobs and work areas to Manufacturing Department employees according to their skills and knowledge
  • Builds Inspects and repairs all special tools. Recommends new tooling as required to increase efficiencies considering ROI
  • Coordinates and schedules all in-house technician training
  • Conducts weekly shop toolbox meetings with manufacturing staff
  • Assists the Manufacturing Manager in coordination with the Service manager in conducting quarterly safety meetings
  • May fill the Manufacturing Manager role in their absence
  • May arrange for and participate in re-conditioning of used equipment and set-up of new equipment
  • May approve the release of equipment for delivery to the customer
  • May assist in providing performance feedback for technicians and staff to the Manufacturing Manager
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to lead and motivate others
  • Familiar with Truck and/or Trailers and competitive products
  • Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
Required Experience
  • 3+ years #39; experience as a Lead hand/Forman in a Service shop or manufacturing facility
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Class 1A or 3A preferred
  • Journeyman certificate preferred but not required
