The Meadowbank Complex, in operation since 2010, which uses the processing facilities and infrastructure at the Meadowbank mine site, combined with the mining and infrastructure at the Amaruq site. the Meliadine underground mine, in operation since 2019 located near Rankin Inlet, NU is our second mine in Canada’s Low Arctic. Our third mine, the Hope Bay mine, located near Cambridge Bay, NU is located in the Kitikmeot region of Nunavut. It has over 90 regional exploration targets across an 80 km greenstone belt. To support the Nunavut projects, Agnico Eagle has staff based out of 2 regional offices, located in Val d’Or and Mirabel, Quebec.YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:Reporting to the Human Resources Superintendent, the Human Resources Professional is part of the Human Resources Department and collaborates with other departments of the mine. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Manage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders with different initiatives;
  • Lead training development and optimization projects;
  • Analyze, implement and ensure the delivery of training quality, and compliance with the different agreements and standards in place;
  • Identify training requirements and institutes plans for training new and existing employees;
  • Assist in planning, creating, and implementing training courses and materials for each department as well as reviewing and maintaining the current training material up to date and relevant;
  • Seek and gather information from management, employees and other departments regarding the effectiveness of completed training courses and constantly seek to improve;
  • Participate in Human Resources activities;
  • Supervise, mentor, motivate and lead staff;
  • Support and plan the work of the team in order to achieve the operational goals established for the site;
  • Oversee and develop the Learning Management System;
  • Support the organization in a rapidly changing operational environment.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or Administration, coupled with an HR profile or equivalent;
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience;
  • Mining experience is an asset;
  • Cultural awareness and understanding of work in the Canadian Arctic is an asset;
  • Demonstrate organization and tactical planning skills;
  • Strong project management capabilities;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team, with a focus on coaching and motivational skills;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on a Speexx English language assessment.
Your Work Schedule
  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d’Or, Quebec.
