With more than 1,100 beds and approximately 12,000 staff members, we deliver specialized care to the Eastern Ontario region.From the compassion of our people to the relentless pursuit of new discoveries, The Ottawa Hospital never stops seeking solutions to the most complex health-care challenges while continually engaging with the community to support our vision for better patient care.Working together with its research institute, the University of Ottawa, and other partners, the hospital is continually gaining national and international recognition for high-quality patient care, teaching and research, while striving to meet the needs of the culturally diverse community we serve.Position InformationReporting to the Manager, Compensation, Classification, & Workforce Compliance, the Compensation and Classification Analyst assists in the development, implementation, communication and administration of compensation and classification related programs.This position is temporary for approximately one year.Rotation/ShiftsDays, 8 hour shifts.What you will do

  • Ensure the maintenance of the integrity of our compensation and classification structure in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS);
  • Support various compensation-related initiatives through the provision of reports, statistics and analysis;
  • Support the development and maintenance of job descriptions and classifications, and ensure internal equity and Pay Equity compliance;
  • Participate in the job evaluation process for all employee groups and liaise with union groups on classification and compensation related matters;
  • Participate in the coordination of salary and other pay increases;
  • Participate in small to large-scale compensation-related projects;
  • Provide research and analysis for job market data, legislative subjects, union matters and organizational structure;
  • Ensure that salary administration guidelines are followed;
  • Respond to salary surveys and analyze survey results.
What you will bring
  • Three-year community college diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field;
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience working in a Human Resources Department or similar environment;
  • Familiarity with job descriptions and compensation structures;
  • Knowledge of Collective Agreements;
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Exel and other office applications (MS Word, Outlook, etc.);
  • Ability to manage databases and to develop charts, tables and graphs;
  • Experience with data analytics and working with Human Resources Information Systems (PeopleSoft, SAP, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent organization skills;
  • Client service-oriented and capable of managing competing priorities/meeting tight deadlines.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing needs and timelines.

  • Experience working in a complex, unionized environment;
  • Experience working in healthcare or a health related environment;
  • Proficiency in English and French – oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
