We are One House that leverages diversity in all its forms.About the Role:The House of Commons is currently looking to staff the Analyst, Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) position.The Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms and Corporate Security is responsible for providing critical corporate management services (e.g. leading strategic, business, financial, human resources and operational planning; monitoring, evaluation, policy coordination and oversight) and acts as a corporate change agent to continuously enhance the SAA-CS’s business performance and management practices.The Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) Analyst is accountable for the ongoing collection, integration and analysis of OSINT data gathered from a wide range of publicly available sources, social media platforms, traditional and non-traditional internet sites, and for validating the data, sources and timeliness of such data in producing intelligence reports. Responsibilities include analyzing and linking new data with previously conducted intelligence analysis as well as referring identified or adverse information for more in-depth investigation by the Risk Management and Investigations team. The incumbent makes recommendations on improving OSINT data collection processes and tools, as well as in the improvement of information systems and processes.Position location: Ottawa, OntarioTop Reasons to Join the Corporate Security Operations Team:Were dedicated to building an inclusive culture where employees can do their best work.     • Undergraduate degree in History, Journalism, Political Science, Sociology, International Studies, Criminology or a related field OR acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
    Experience
    • Experience liaising and coordinating with various stakeholders (internal & external);
    • Knowledge and understanding of Parliament Hill and the House of Commons as an institution;
    • Experience using Record Management Systems, softwares and communications tools;
    • Advanced critical thinking and analytical skills;
    • Knowledge and familiarity of various major Social Media platforms;
    • Experience in the coordination of services/materials (i.e. briefs, reports, assessments, etc);
    • Strong Communication, client service, and interpersonal skills.
    Assets
    • Experience within the security industry such as: the intelligence community, corporate security, private investigations, investigative journalism, law enforcement, crisis communications, public relations, or social/digital media;
    • Experience in the use of open source intelligence tools, techniques and procedures to conduct online investigations and research involving the collection, integration and analysis of data from multiple open data media sources, internet and social media technology platforms;
    • Experience drafting intelligence briefings, security assessments and threat/risk analyses;
    • Experience using social media platforms and technology, the implications of their policies and rules of practice, and of the best practices approach for the removal of offensive or threatening information.
