Equally important, we pride ourselves on cultivating an environment of humility that allows room for personal growth.Our headquarters is located in Gatineau, Quebec, and our preference is to work together, as a team, in the office.Description:The BIM Operator will assist the IT/BIM Manager in any required projects to maintain efficiency for the clients. Clients for the IT Team are the firms’ architects, technologists, designers and operations teams, and this individual will be a support resource for those teams. They will be expected to create software tools, components, and details to provide more efficient and fluid workflow for the production teams. This individual will also be expected to have a current understanding of software Revit, AutoCAD, and other relevant programs. Having knowledge of BIM 360 is also required.Responsibilities:

  • Create 2D and 3D visual components
  • This individual can be called upon to assist the Junior Technologist in site surveys and site inspections. He or she would be required to catalog the existing structure and conditions of the site as well as identifying work that needs to be completed.
  • Organize and structure documents and templates for office filing. All filing is now paper-free and is done in cloud format on the company server.
  • Create accessible templates and documents to minimize research and administrative work for the production team. Ensure all templates and files are properly organized and structured with Autodesk software.
  • Create, organize, and update design details and contents, templating layouts and basic structure. Assisting the BIM Manager with the process requirements and templates.
  • Apply an understanding of BIM principles to project efficiencies.
  • Templating, building, and controlling processes as they are needed.
  • Providing IT hardware support as needed. This could include moving workstations, setting up new computer stations, or other labor type jobs.
Requirements:
  • Programs
    • Must have an intermediate level understanding of Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360, and MS Office. These programs are all used in office and this individual will be expected to operate in all programs periodically. Understanding Dynamo and Twin motion would be considered an asset.
  • Creative
    • The BIM Operator may be required to complete Draftsman like tasks, and should have an ability to create imaging content for documentation (such as doors, wall partitions, etc.)
  • Organized
    • He or she will be assisting in the organization of documents and files. They must be able to follow and potentially create naming processes to ensure consistent organization throughout.
  • Customer Service
    • The clients for the BIM Operator are the production teams. This individual must have some skills pertaining to customer service such as patience and quick decision-making skills to best assist the clients.
  • Language
    • Fluency in French and English is a strong asset. We operate in both French and English, so having the ability to communicate with all would be an asset.
Education:Certificate of completion in Revit, BIM, or similar program.Experience:
  • Knowledge and experience in architecture or construction industry would be an asset.
  • Having knowledge of the Building Code and Construction Specifications would be a valued asset
Additional Information:
  • Full time, permanent, 40h/week
  • Salary: $45,000-$65,000
  • Probationary period of 3 months
