We are looking to hire a skilled Lead Carpenter to join our team.Personal Attributes and Qualities to include but not be limited to:Eager to learn.Motivated, hardworking, reliable and honest. Understand teamwork.Passionate about their work, the work they complete, about making a difference.Understanding of building something that is a quality product and lasts, and uses their work as an example of what they stand for.Understanding and passionate about lowering the carbon footprint/importance of sustainability.Organized, inspired, looking to grow within the company.Skills/Experience:Currently a Carpenter with a minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience with residential (home renovation, additions or new builds).At least 5 years hands-on experience with demolition, Footing and ICF work; Framing; Window and door installation; Exterior siding of all kinds; Insulation work; Drywall work; Interior door and trim work; Flooring, Tile Work, Cabinetry Installation.General Responsibilities also include:Material take-offs and ordering.Supervision and management of other employees and sub-trades for the project assigned.Review construction specifications and plans.Submit any receipts in an organized manner to the office.Completion of Daily Work Logs.Working as a team with fellow employees and sub-trades.Project Management Responsibilities include:Site Safety, Quality Control, and Primary point-of-contact (POC) for clients.Prepare a comparative review of bids at the request of the clients.Manage and update the schedule/calendar for projects; Attend and report on-site meetings with clients, major sub-contractors and/or consultants when appropriate. Conduct or coordinate systems demonstrations and maintenance procedure instructions for clients.Receive the operating manuals, as specified, and provide to the clients.PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection),Report prior to the clients taking control of premises,Requirements:Must have own vehicle and clean drivers abstract (company vehicles may become available to leads).Must be willing and able to travel in the City Limits of Ottawa, some outside Ottawa work (eg. Renfrew, Constance Bay, Navan, Rockland)Tools: Must have own tools (large power tools provided by The Conscious Builder)Health and Safety Requirements:Ministry H&S Certificate.Understanding of basic H&S.Understanding of site safety, PPE and completion of daily logs.Training arrangements can be provided by The Conscious Builder upon hire.Additional Details:Job Type: Full-time, Private, Non-Union.Job Title: Lead Carpenter.Area of Work: 95% Ottawa Area - City Limits (almost always within city limits).Rate: $29.00-$33.00 dependent on experience.Benefits: Currently no benefits, but the company is working on a basic benefit plan in 2021.Vacation: 3 weeks, above standard.
