Are you inCome, and be where it begins.Our Exciting OpportunityWe are now looking for a Product Development Leader to secure Ericssons Mechanical Design leadership in radio products and make sure we have the right scope, quality, time and cost for product development. As a Product Development Leader you will teach, coach, challenge and develop individuals, teams and organizations. You will foster a creative and learning culture. The Mechanical Design Line Manager will lead through the end-to-end product development from F0 until handover to maintenance/end of life. The position will be based in Ottawa, Canada.You will:

  • Lead a team of mechanical engineers to development state-of-the art 5G radio products through new building practices
  • Drive mechanical & materials technology and radio product leadership
  • Optimize flow through lean and agile development
  • Promote innovation and improvements
  • Promote knowledge sharing and learning
  • Be part of fostering a motivating, customer oriented, and challenging work environment
  • Drive internal efficiency and cost effectiveness
  • Ensure the efficient development and maintenance of all products assigned
  • Drive accountability for quality assurance throughout the team
  • Represent Radio Hardware Design in key customer and supplier interfaces
  • Resource planning for the team
To be successful in the role you must have:
  • Education: Technical education at a university level is required. B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering is strongly desired. M.Sc. preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Min years of experience: 10 years
  • Domain experience: mechanical engineering, materials technology, thermal systems
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical components supplier base and supplier chain
  • Cost efficient manufacturing methodologies and technologies
  • Coaching & Mentoring Skills
  • Formulating strategies and concepts
Skill Requirements:Product Delivery: The candidate will display experience in leading a team to deliver quality radio hardware in time to market schedules. The candidate will demonstrate examples of helping the team to manage risks and trade-offs to achieve challenging project schedules.Technology Development: Driving new technology is the key to future success. The candidate will demonstrate understanding of mechanical design and materials technology and the role it plays in achieving Ericsson goals in the areas of technology leadership, radio evolution and product cost. As well, the candidate must show leadership to quickly grasp and adapt to new technologies and concepts to achieve these Ericsson goals.Collaboration: Collaboration is key to a successful delivery of product and technology.
