POSITION: Occupational Therapy Assistant – Aging in Place Liaison (Ottawa and Renfrew County)STATUS: Contract -Full Time and Part Time Available (October 2022 – March 2024 with possibilities of extension)REPORTS TO: Occupational Therapist – Aging in Place Consultant Dementia affects our memory, thinking, emotions and ability to perform everyday tasks. In Ottawa and Renfrew County, 24,000 people live with a diagnosis of dementia. In the next decade, the number of diagnosed cases is expected to double.The work of the Dementia Society is incredibly rewarding and equally challenging. The people living with dementia, care partners and caregivers we support have amazing stories filled with highs and lows, frustrations, and triumphs. It is in these moments and many in-between that you would make an impact.Do you want to be part of the launch of a leading practice program Do you have the courage to help us really move the needle and make an impact in area of aging in place As the occupational therapy/physiotherapy assistant to the Aging in Place program, you will be responsible for implementing the intervention plan identified by the Occupational Therapist. The intervention plan may include activities that are virtual and in home to enable people living with dementia and their caregivers to age in place. You won’t always know the answers to the questions you’re being asked, so your ability to be resourceful is key! We believe in human-centered, high-quality experiences.Work EnvironmentWe are living a hybrid work model to support our community. That means you will be working from home most of the time, meeting clients in the community as needed, and participating in activities at our new office. Your typical work week will be Monday-Friday (regular business hours) with adjustments as needed to meet our clients’ needs. Travel is required.Key Responsibilities
