The Satellite Communications Specialist will provide support for Deployed Ops and Maintenace management problems in support of the Canadian Forces Strategic Command Control and Communications.QualificationsMandatory

• Must hold a valid Canadian drivers license and a valid Canadian Passport.
• Must have a minimum of five (5) or more years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite 2010 or higher (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Visio).
• Must have a minimum of five (5) years experience within the last ten (10) years using the latest state-of-the-art electronic theory, techniques and practices to diagnose, test and repair SATCOM electronic equipment, (for example, spectrum analyser, Bit Error Rate Test (BERT) and power meters), in a Professional Corporate Strategic Satellite Communication environment.
• Must have a minimum of five (5) years experience within the last seven (7) years providing written communication such as detailed maintenance procedures, testing results, technical reports and Statements of Work.
• Must have a minimum of five (5) years experience within the last seven (7) years working with Crypto KG-175D and KIV-7M equipment.
• Must have a minimum of five (5) years experience within the last ten (10) years working with the Government of Canada supply and cataloguing systems such as CGCM/CGCS, FED LOG, CFSS, and DRMIS or applicable equivalents using both the SAP Graphical User Interface and HTTP Interfaces.
• Must have a minimum of five (5) years experience, within the last seven (7) years working with the Adtran Multiplexers, Nortel Meridian PBX (Option 11) and Newbridge Mux.
• Must have a minimum of five (5) years experience within the last ten (10) years integrating and maintaining Professional Satellite Communications Systems, Antennas and cabling used to transmit sensitive or classified information.
• Must have a minimum of five (5) years experience within the last ten (10) years constructing cables for both classified and unclassed requirements, in accordance with the manufacturers` recommended maintenance practices.

Nice to Have

• A College or CEGEP Diploma/Certificate, OR a University (PhD, Graduate, Undergraduate) degree.
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience within the last ten (10) years using the following Government contracting methods:
  • Local Procurement Orders
  • Standing Offers
  • Request for Proposals (requirement definition)
• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience within the last ten (10) years diagnosing SATCOM and/or PBX equipment failures, interpreting and evaluating performance testing results, as well as proposing maintenance procedures and techniques for both classified and unclassed equipment, in accordance with the manufacturers’ recommended maintenance practices in a Professional Corporate Strategic Satellite Communication Environment.
• One Project within the past five (5) years that clearly demonstrates knowledge of the operational characteristics of commercial SATCOM or MILSATCOM systems.
