Position:Primary Care ParamedicaCompetition number:#2022-83Location:Oxford County Paramedic Services (OCPS)Employment Status:Permanent Part-timeReporting to:SuperintendentUnion affiliation:OPSEUWage range:$38.77/hr - $41.19/hr.Position SummaryReporting to the Superintendent, is responsible for responding to requests for ambulance service and delivering medical care to victims of accident/illness, ensuring safe transportation to receiving medical facilities, and assisting with the on-going care of the patient within the facility as may be required. Also participates in the ongoing maintenance of ambulance vehicles, equipment and stations, and other duties as may be prescribed by the on-duty Superintendent or Oxford County Paramedic Services
  • QUALIFICATIONS: *
The ideal candidate will be a certified Primary Care Paramedic, AEMCA or pending. You will meet all employment and qualification criteria as contained in Ontario Regulation 257/00 - Part III. You will be available to work short notice assignments on rotating shifts in all stations located within the County. Transportation is required. Current certification in symptom relief and defibrillation as well as Intravenous Therapy from a recognized Ontario Base Hospital program will be considered an asset. Candidates must be successful in Ottawa Paramedic Physical Abilities Testing (OPPAT) prior to job offers. The cost of the physical abilities testing will be the responsibility of the applicant. A current OPPAT certification will not be required for application.Please note that all new hires are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
