Job Description

CUPELAKERIDGE HEALTHUNIT CLERKLABOUR AND DELIVERYWOMEN AND CHILDRENS PROGRAMTEMPORARY PART TIMEDays, Evenings, Nights, and Weekends; 8 & 12 hour shifts (subject to change)Lakeridge Health Ajax/PickeringSALARY: $24.62 - 25.74 per hourCUPE-2200004551 (subsequent)DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:The Unit Clerk is responsible for patient registration, reception, transcribing Doctors orders, booking tests, maintaining supplies, replacing sick time calls and other related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Medical Office Administration Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Proven knowledge of medical terminology (tested);
  • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (tested - basic level);
  • Proven keyboarding skills of 30 wpm (tested);
  • Knowledge of Meditech Admission module and Order Entry module;
  • Previous experience transcribing doctors orders;
  • Proven effective organizational, prioritization, co-ordination and multi-tasking skills;
  • Proven superior interpersonal skills and communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative;
  • Proven ability to work productively despite distractions and frequent interruptions;
  • Proven ability to work in a stressful environment;
  • Must have a satisfactory performance record;
  • Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclustion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Healths comprehensive safety program and practices including staff, patient, and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this area; and
  • Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.
