The goal of the Mi´kmaw/Indigenous Student Support Worker is to help Mi´kmaq, First Nations & Indigenous students achieve academic success, improve their self- esteem and remain in school by fostering a positive environment of good will, respect and dignity among students, parent/guardians, school administration, teachers and all community members. The Mi´kmaw/Indigenous Student Support Worker will require a high degree of professionalism and confidentially working in this environment. The Mi´kmaw/Indigenous Student Support Worker is usually required to work outside of regular school hours an average of ten hours per month.The Mi´kmaw/Indigenous Student Support Worker schedule is subject to change based on enrollment and the needs at the school site(s).
