Job Description

Are you looking for a role that will have you delivering reporting requirements for projects for a Restoration Project that range from small modifications or improvements to facility and infrastructure at WL, waste management facilities, facility decommissioning, and environmental restoration activitiesCan you see yourself supporting multiple departments, including engineering, safety analysis and licensing, technical procurement, construction/installation, commissioning and/or decommissioning work scopes As the Project Controls Coordinator II, this role will have you working with Project Managers to coordinate and maintain project schedules, scope, and budgets and provide regular reporting and forecasting to stakeholders. You would be working closely with project teams to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. Notifying management or supervisor of all occurrences, injuries, illnesses or safety and health concerns which are likely to harm themselves, their co-workers or any other on the premises in a timely manner and in accordance with established reporting requirements.What will you be doing

  • Supporting project managers and cost account managers in coordinating and managing project schedules, budgets, resources and project risks and issues.
  • Tracking project progress and identifying potential issues, risks or delays.
  • Communicating project status to project managers and other stakeholders.
  • Preparing and maintaining project status reports, including project schedule and budget.
  • Supporting project managers in the preparation of project reports and presentations.
  • Supporting project managers in the procurement process, including the preparation of purchase requisitions and tracking of invoices, payments, and accruals.
  • Providing input to the preparation of project plans and reporting related to scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Coordinating the work and activities of a small number of interfaces to accomplish project-related tasks in accordance with project expectations.
  • Monitoring and analyzing general project information, identifying anomalies, and recommending or taking corrective action where appropriate.
  • Analyzing project forecasts and resource demand information, cash flow analysis, cost estimating, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to improve project management processes and practices.
  • The work can be demanding and fast-paced, with pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Occasionally be working extended hours or travelling.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by one #39;s manager.
  • The role requires daily onsite reporting in Pinawa, Manitoba.
What we are looking for!
  • Secondary school graduation and a two-year diploma or degree in a discipline related to project management, engineering, or business; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience related to project management.
  • Minimum two (2) to four (4) years of progressive work experience in project controls and knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Minimum of three (3) years traceable work history in Canada.
  • Experience with using Primavera P6 and other project scheduling software.
  • Gathering and analyzing project data, identifying anomalies, and recommending and corrective actions.
  • Fundamental knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and knowledge areas (i.e., cost, time, integration, scope, quality, human resources, risk, procurement, and stakeholder management).
  • Fundamental knowledge of the basic concepts of earned value management analysis.
  • General understanding of accounting principles, specific accruals and reporting accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of the typical phases of a project.
  • General understanding of the methods and resources used by functions engaged to perform project activities; (i.e., engineering, licensing, quality assurance, procurement, manufacturing, etc.) and the deliverables typically produced.
  • Strong computer skills and full working knowledge of the computer-based applications used for project management purposes (i.e., spreadsheets, databases, P6, Cobra, Merlin, specialized scheduling software, cost estimating, and resource forecasting applications).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with different levels and positions in the organization.
  • Excellent time management skills to work on or support several initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and confidential matters with discretion.
  • Awareness of nuclear standards is preferred.
  • Security clearance eligibility required: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom.
