Job Description

Under the direction and supervision of the Operations/Training Manager, the OH&S Officer will be responsible for maintaining and improving the safety standards within Rosthern and District Ambulance service, WPD Ambulance North Battleford and WPD Ambulance Lloydminster. OH&S Officer will also be responsible for ongoing training like TLR and other safety related topics as well as conducting internal audits and assisting with external audits, ensuring that compliance are met and maintained.Accountabilities

  • Inspect the sanitary conditions of Ambulances, Equipment and facilities
  • Conduct surveys and monitoring programs of the continued improvement of OH&S standards within the company
  • Collect data for workplace hazards; and conduct safety and environmental audits
  • Investigate health and safety related complaints and workplace accidents
  • Inspect workplaces to ensure that equipment and materials do not present a safety or health hazard to employees or to the general public
  • Develop, implement and evaluate health and safety programs and strategies
  • Ensure that Health and Safety Policies are up to date and that all Material Safety Data Sheets are up to date and available.
  • Provide consultation and deliver training programs to employers, employees and the general public on issues of public health, environmental protection or workplace safety.

Education:
  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required)
