Job Description

POSITION PURPOSEThis position is responsible for the process improvement for the Department’s mask fit testing processes and procedures focusing on streamlining processes, revising related policies and procedures, standardizing training materials, and conducting quantitative mask fit testing.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates/works with stakeholders and follows the corporate strategic leadership, planning and direction related to this function.
  • Recommends and leads improvement activities focused on streamlining the mask fit testing processes including the revisions of related policies and procedures.
  • Develops and optimizes scheduling processes and standardizes training materials.
  • Assists in the development of key performance indicators for mask fit testing and reports on the KPIs for mask fit testing.
  • Reviews and optimizes current systems to track mask fit testing of employees and ensures mask fit testing are valid and updated prior to expiry.
  • Ensures N95 respirators are properly fit tested.
  • Recommends space allocation and location for mask fit testing.
  • Responds to inquiries and resolves concerns, as appropriate.
  • Ensures that services provided meet Regional customer service standards.
  • Participates on committees, work groups, and teams as assigned.
  • Manages information in accordance with legislation and corporate standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, in accordance with Branch and Department objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Business Administration or related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in leading process improvement projects.
  • Demonstrated ability in the Region’s core competencies.
  • Intermediate skills in virtual platforms and MS Office Suite including the use of virtual platforms for conducting meetings and/or presentations.
  • Ability to connect with a range of internal and external stakeholders while focusing on fostering collaborative work relationships.
  • Strong report writing, research, and presentation skills and work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong ability to develop relationships and work in a welcoming and inclusive environment, where diversity is celebrated and where everyone can develop to their full potential.
  • Ability to work independently and with teams and with ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to travel to offsite locations, as required.
  • Ability to work outside regular business hours, as required.
