Job Description

Shilo Military Family Resource CentreChild Care Assistant – ISP workerThe Shilo Military Family Resource Centre Care is located at Canadian Forces Base Shilo. We are seeking Child Care Assistants (CCA) who are enthusiastic about working with children ages 12 weeks to 12 years of age. We are a provincial licensed childcare centre. The successful candidate must have a positive, friendly attitude, patient and flexible. The CCA will have the ability to maintain consistency with policies, behavior management, attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism and be reliable.Specific Qualifications:

  • Child Care Assistant Classification
  • Proven experience working with children ages 12 weeks to 12 years of age
  • Knowledge of the Provincial Best Practices Licensing Manual
  • 40 hour course related to Early Childhood Education completed by end of first year of employment
  • Ability to work independently, as well as team member
  • Be punctual, reliable and have a positive, nurturing attitude
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Establish and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment
  • Knowledge of the military lifestyle
  • Current First Aid/CPR
  • Clear Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry/Vulnerable Persons check at hire
  • Knowledge with Microsoft Office
