It is a future where cutting-edge science and proven farm practices meet, ensuring the health of pigs, producers, and consumers for generations to come.OpportunityFast Genetics is looking for keen individuals who are excited to take part in building the future of pork production. We are currently recruiting for Swine Production Technician Summer Interns. Successful candidates will find themselves working in farrowing to finish production facilities located at various locations; Spiritwood, Melfort, or Watrous. Fast Genetics is a team of innovative thinkers that provide a well-rounded summer experience through hands-on learning.This position will include the following responsibilities and day-to-day functions but is not limited to:

  • Performing specific department duties,
  • Working hands-on with the animals,
  • Performing daily health checks,
  • Ensuring feed and water systems are working properly,
  • Performing minor maintenance tasks,
  • Washing empty pens and prepping rooms for animal entry,
  • Perform general farm duties as requested.
The successful candidate would ideally possess the following qualifications and experiences:
  • Self-motivated and reliable,
  • Team player,
  • Outstanding organization and communication skills and demonstrates attention to detail,
  • Able to manage priorities and solve problems,
  • Previous livestock experience,
  • Driver’s license,
  • Obtaining an agriculture-based college certificate or other specialized training in agriculture,
  • Shares in Fast Genetics’ core values.
