Job Description

After 20 years in business we run efficiently as a drug and alcohol-free company; with over 250 employees annually, we offer excellent career advancements for all skillsets.We custom fit our services to the specific needs our client’s project, providing or securing and managing the most appropriate equipment, products, services, people, prices and timing on their behalf.Job Requirements:MATRIX is looking for experienced Carpenters for our Spring/Summer season , If You are team oriented, motivated person with an attention for details. You will play a key role at one of our remote camps by supporting the team to complete construction of a remote camp. This position reports to the Manager.Responsibilities:

  • Framing, forming, finishing, and installation as needed.
  • Preparation and site clean-up, including rubbish removal.
  • Proficient with building code regulations as it relates to work-site building construction and repairs.
  • Assist in the completion of all necessary documentation as per process / protocol to ensure cost effectiveness and budget allocation.
  • Provide quality workmanship consistent with industry standards and stakeholder expectations.
  • Understand the basics of reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Participate in daily Toolbox meetings.
  • Support monthly worksite inspections.
  • Perform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures.
  • Notify Manager of unsafe practices and unsafe environment.
  • Report all incidents and accidents immediately.
  • Actively participate as a high performing, team member.
Required Knowledgeamp; Experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years working in a construction field/camp position.
  • Certified Journeyman Carpenter (Red Seal)
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work a rotation schedule.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Able to walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of performance over a 10 - 12 hour shift.
Preferred Licensingamp; Certifications:
  • Standard First Aid Certification.
  • WHIMS Certification.
  • Previous experience working in remote camp setting.
  • Proficient in all aspects of building repair and replacement.
