Job Description

Assistant Lifeguard/ Instructor Town of Tillsonburg is looking for a responsible Assistant Lifeguard/ Instructor to provide instructional assistance for Aquatic Programming provided for all ages, safeguarding of all patrons during while swimming and assisting with health and safety requirements and emergency response. This is a seasonal student position with an option to enroll in OMERS defined pension plan.Start date: upon completion of constructionEnd date: September 3, 2025Hourly rate: $17.20Weekly hours: up to 20Openings: 4Vulnerable Sector Check is required for this position.Responsibilities

  • To provide assistant instruction in the current Tillsonburg Community Centre Aquatic Programs.
  • To endeavor at all times to work as a team with supervisors and fellow staff members.
  • To understand and follow all emergency procedures and use of emergency equipment.
  • To attend all staff training sessions and staff meetings as set down by the Program Coordinator.
  • To interact with members of the public in a helpful and respectful manner.
  • To be familiar with all swimming programs and provide accurate and current information to the public.
  • Proven track record of reliability, professionalism, and good work ethic
  • Perform other duties as required and designated by the Aquatics Supervisor.
  • Must be available after school, evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
  • Bronze Cross Certification
  • Standard First Aid + CPR
