Job Description

Position: Confined Space Attendants and Heavy Labour PersonnelIrwin #39;s Safety is hiring Confined Space Attendants and Heavy Labour Personnel for jobs in a variety of industries.Qualifications

  • Labouring experience is an asset
  • A valid driver #39;s license and reliable transportation to get to and from site is an asset
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy items
  • Must be clean shaven
  • Must be able to pass lab-based D amp;A test
  • Must speak and write English fluently
  • Must provide own ankle covering steel toed boots
  • OFA 1 considered an asset but not required
Responsibilities
  • Participate in all pre-job and daily tailgate meetings
  • Participate inquot;Work-site Hazard Assessments quot;
  • Responsible for performing lightamp; heavy labour duties
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time (sometimes up to 12 hours)
  • May be responsible for confined space activities and record entrance(s) and exit(s) on log sheets
  • Operate two-way radio to communicate as required
  • Monitor hot work activities and know how to operate fire extinguisher, inform designated authorities, and safely evacuate the area in case of emergency
  • Monitor atmospheric air quality using electronic gas monitor devices
  • Wear respiratory protection where necessary
  • Communicate all hazards and unsafe conditions to your Supervisor
OFA Instructors Irwin #39;s Safety is hiring Worksafe BC - certified OFA1 and/or OFA 3 instructors in BC! We are looking for self-motivated individuals with excellent communication skills and charisma!Qualifications
  • Must be certified to train OFA 1 and OFA 3
  • A valid Class 5 driver #39;s license and ability to get to work site is an asset
  • Previous experience working as an OFA 1 and/or OFA 3 Instructor is an asset
  • Previous experience instructing in an industrial setting is an asset
  • Previous experience instructing in Indigenous communities is an asset
  • Previous experience as a First Aid instructor on an industrial site is an asset
  • Proficient use of presentation software systems such as PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Office 365 products
