Please note that this is not a fly-in, fly-out operation and will be based in Labrador West, NL. This position will be on a 7/on 7/off rotation requiring works on days and nights 12-hour shifts.Job Responsibilities:

• Leads by example and supervises all operators within the mine and tailings areas.
• Inspire and drive employee engagement, productivity, performance, and continuous improvement.
• Accomplishes results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results, coaching and developing employees, initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
• Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, reporting results of the processing flow.
• Maintain required status of dewatering and transfer pumps around pit, assign crew to keep them fueled and maintained.
• Collaborates and works with employees in all areas of Scully operations to maximize business performance. This is especially true for outcomes of plant performance and ultimately quality concentrate production.
• Communicates freely and effectively with cross-shifts and management personnel.
• Ensure that their crew understands the Short-Term Incentive (STI) and how each team member impacts upon it.
• Monitor the progress of daily activities, deal with any identified obstacles that limit the productivity of the crew, conduct site visits to ensure that all assigned work is performed in a safe and environmentally conscientious manner.
• Coordinate pit activities and crews to execute mining plans efficiently and cost effectively.
• Ensure that operators diligently complete mobile equipment inspection sheets diligently every shift.
• Instill and maintain a culture of high-performance teamwork amongst his/her crew.
• Lead efforts and implementation of dust control solutions at all times while on shift.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of Mine operations including heavy equipment operation, safety, maintenance, and staff utilization.
• Previous supervisory experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively train and mentor employees.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable with a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent work ethic, and attendance record.
• Able to work 12-hour shifts, 7 on, 7 off (days and nights)

• Secondary School (Required)

License:

• Driver’s License (Required)
