Job Description

Our machineryamp; equipment department is looking for a heavy equipment mechanic. The selected candidate will be assigned to the Stanley Park project and will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of aboveground and underground heavy equipment.ResponsibilitiesAs a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will: · Verify the equipment in order to detect functioning problems; · Repair and maintain the equipment through preventative and corrective mechanical works; · Perform repairs, parts replacement, adjustments and settings; · Verify hydraulic, pneumatic and electric systems; · Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic tests; · Clean the work area and store the tools; · Disassemble and reassemble components such as engines, transmission, and pumps on certain units in order to inspect and diagnose equipment problems using computer systems, calibration and gauge devices; · Repair and inspect mechanical, hydraulic and electronic systems and equipment; · Repair air conditioning systems; · Repair major components such as final drive units, suspensions, springs, bushings and central pivots; · Provide entries and data for the treatment of work sheets, registration and equipment repair and inspection reports; · Follow and respect all health, safety, and environment procedures; · Any other related task.RequirementsRequirements· Heavy equipment mechanic certification (red seal) or any related training; · Mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric knowledge; · Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar position; · Valid class 5 driver’s license (class 3 would be an asset); · Must be conscious of health, safety, and environmental procedures. Skills and attitudes required· Resourcefulness, ingenuity, good dexterity, and physical ability; · Capable of working alone and in teams; · Autonomy and thoroughness; · Proven ability to diagnose heavy equipment.BenefitsConditions offered by EBC Site: Stanley Park .Terms and Conditions will apply per Collective Agreement.
