Job Description

VCA Canada Animal Care Centre of Strathmore in Strathmore, AB is currently welcoming a driven, enthusiastic, and friendly Veterinary Receptionist to join our team on a full time fixed term basis.Our goal at the Animal Care Centre of Strathmore is to provide quality veterinary care to animals large and small because we care. We work as a team to give our patients and clients the best experience possible – customer service is THE focus. Our team members enjoy coming to work and collaborating in a vibrant, fun environment all while practicing quality medicine and providing an EXCELLENT Client Experience.Responsibilities include:

  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for our patient and pet parents
  • Ability to answer a multiline phone system and track and book appointments effectively
  • Placing outbound calls to pet parents for follow-up and future appointment bookings
  • Respond and manage email correspondence; clients, referring veterinarians & internal office messages
  • Admitting and discharging pet patients
  • Invoicing/billing; creating estimates, obtaining pet owner confirmation and processing payments
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting people at ease and creating a welcoming environment
  • General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of reception area, pet holding areas and common areas
  • Availability to work Saturdays
