More information can be found here.Bring your strong leadership skills to this dynamic team environment!As a branch within the Ministry of Attorney General, Court Services employs 1,300 staff to deliver programs and services at 89 court locations, in person, by telephone, via video and the Internet.The Manager, Court Administration position provides leadership and supervision to court administration staff in Williams Lake who provide support to Supreme and Provincial Courts. This position also performs judicial roles of District Registrar of Supreme Court of British Columbia, Registrar of Small Claims Court and Justice of the Peace. The Manager is responsible for overseeing the court administration operations.Williams Lake has a rich history regarding the Cariboo gold rush, and is located in a valley in the Interior Plateau of Central BC. Whitewater rafting and single track mountain biking are unique activities available in Williams Lake.   • Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED), preferably supplemented with a university degree or college diploma in a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience within the justice or legal system.
  • Minimum one-year recent supervisory experience.
  • Experience in Human Resource and Labour Relations practices, financial management, policy and contractual interpretation, public administration principles and practices, program planning and project management.
  • Experience in budget/FTE, resource management and risk management.
Preference may be given to candidates with:
  • Work experience within the justice system, Court Service Branch and/or legal system.
  • Extensive knowledge of court services structure, policies and procedures and branch mandate and strategic priorities.
WILLINGNESS STATEMENTS
  • Must have or be eligible to obtain a commission as a Justice of the Peace in the Province of British Columbia within 6 months.
  • Must have or be able to obtain certification as a Deputy District Registrar in the Supreme Court of British Columbia within 6 months.
