Job Description

Your Opportunity:Drayton Valley is a vibrant town in Central Alberta, situated between the North Saskatchewan and Pembina Rivers of the Brazeau County. The area is known for its vast oil fields and beautify wilderness areas and boasts many services and recreation opportunities. With a population of just over 7000 people, Drayton Valley is a 133 km drive from the nearest large urban centre (Edmonton). As a Therapy Assistant you will perform safe and effective patient treatment activities for residents in a new 50 bed Supportive Living facility under the direction of the Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, and Speech Language Pathologist. You will be involved in assisting in various interventions including strengthening and mobility programs, provision of mobility aids, ADL training, therapeutic transfers, equipment maintenance and inspection. Other duties include equipment ordering and provision, inventory cleaning and maintenance, ordering supplies, and preparing treatment areas.Description:As a Therapy Assistant, you will work both individually and as part of an interprofessional team under the assignment, monitoring and evaluation of an audiologist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, recreation therapist or speech-language pathologist. You will contribute to effective and efficient rehabilitation services including direct and indirect client care across the health care continuum (healthy living, getting better, living with illness and disability, end of life care) for all ages as well as non-client service provision. This role will require you to work effectively with internal and external partners, and display professionalism and strong ethics in both client centered care and participation in care teams. You will demonstrate evidence of reflective thinking and lifelong learning that enhances individual and team competency.
