JOB TITLE: Culture Development (Reunification) WorkerLOCATION: Wahnapitae First NationTERM: Permanent, Full-TimeREPORTS TO: Education DirectorCLOSING DATE: Until filledNATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITIONReporting to the Director of Education, the Reunification Worker will be responsible for managing all Cultural Development as well as plan, organize and host the Annual Pow Wow. The Cultural Development Worker will also be responsible for sitting on the Cultural Committee and acting as a liaison between the committee and the Wahnapitae First Nation Administration.QUALIFICATIONS · Must be proficient in the Ojibway culture· Proficient in Ojibway language considered an asset· Minimum one (1) year experience in an administrative role· Experience in document management· Experience working in a non-profit office environment· Excellent verbal and written communication skills· Highly developed organizational and time management skills· Excellent attention to detail· Ability to take direction· Self-motivated; ability to multi-task· Excellent computer skills: word processing, database, and internet/email accountSPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES· Responsible for developing and delivering culturally relevant programs and activities, that promote education wellbeing for children, youth, and families of Wahnapitae First Nation.· Proactively engage, assess, and provide cultural programming· Develop and maintain a work plan, with detailed goals and objectives· Preparing annualized budgets and budgets for smaller projects/events· Maintain document control system (policies, procedures, etc.)· Administrative tasks· Assist with Co-ordinating and managing summer students assigned to the Pow Wow· Work as part of a team within the Education department· Provide activity reports and financial statements for expenditures and complete a closing budget report following the Pow Wow· Plan, and organize meetings, meetings rooms, agenda, organizes meeting materials, records, and prepares minutes of meeting.· Performs record management duties and conducting file searches for requested information.· Other administrative duties, as assigned.Interested individuals may apply, by email only, quoting the job title within the subject of the email.
