This position promotes occupational health and safety awareness and legislative compliance while assisting in monitoring and documenting safety related functions completed on behalf of the County of Grande Prairie.QUALIFICATIONS:Health and Safety Experience - minimum 3 yearsCOR Auditor Experience - Alberta Municipal Health and Safety Association (AMHSA) Certification is an assetKnowledge in WCB and Occupational Health and Safety Legislation is an assetOHS Certificate or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be consideredRelated Health & Safety training or certificationsCRSP certification or working towards (preferred)Proficient experience with Microsoft 365 products (i.e., MS Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc.) and strong computer aptitudeStrong organizational skills including competency in the areas of data and records managementPossess a high level of integrity and confidentialityStrong written and verbal communication skillsPossession of a valid class 5 Alberta drivers license and satisfactory driving recordTypical Tasks will include:Assisting in development of strategic health and safety plans and materials to support operational initiatives, municipal programs, and issuesDay-to-day operational requirements include preparing safe operating procedures, maintaining health and safety records, and tracking progress and compliance to health and safety systemParticipating in the coordination and implementation of health and safety policies, procedures, practices, and eventsAssisting in development and delivery of new hire onboarding and orientation processParticipating in the safety-related audit process, the development of action plans, and monitoring completion of recommendationsMonitor and order health and safety supplies and track invoicesProactively and reactively responding to health and safety concerns, issues, and investigationsWe thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.TheQuick Apply
