We offer a collaborative and dynamic workplace where our values of Trustworthy, Transparent, Respectful and Collaborative.The Public Works department is looking for a permanent, full-time Heavy Equipment Operator with the capability to operate primarily a plow truck in winter and gravel truck and pup in the summer, as well as various other pieces of heavy equipment such as loader, grader, cat, packers, and backhoe. The position may also have to do general labour duties as needed. This truck is responsible to maintain a pre- determined route during snow-plow season. Some weekend work and/or longer hours may be required for operations purposes.Qualifications:Valid class 1 Drivers License and an acceptable drivers abstractPhysically capable of undertaking general labour dutiesAbility to undertake maintenance and repairs as requiredAbility to interact with residents and member of the public in a courteous and respectful mannerAbility to undertake basic maintenance of equipment would be an assetExperience with MS Outlook and an ability to use computersAbility to work long hours and weekends as requiredThe successful applicant will be a team player with good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. You will be a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and be able to contribute positively to the team environment.Typical shifts are Monday - Friday, 10-hour days in summer and 8.5-hour days in winter.
