This position is in Cargill’s agricultural supply chain business, where we seamlessly connect farming customers with food, feed and industry.Job Purpose and ImpactThe Laboratory Associate (rotating shift)(13 month term) will ensure products meet or exceed customer requirements for quality and food safety. In this role, you will apply basic understanding of plant processes to monitor quality assurance systems including instrumentation calibration, maintenance, crosschecks, methods, procedures, raw materials, food safety and training. You will provide technical advice and support to production operations to ensure product quality, minimize process variation, process recoveries, waste reduction and cost minimization and improve customer satisfaction. Key AccountabilitiesAssure product meets compliance specifications and overall final product approval checks.Data analysis, trend identification, troubleshooting, corrective action, and communication with regard to processing data.Daily assessment of process quality parameters and food safety and quality systems including cross-checks, raw materials, calibration, maintenance, procedures, food safety, training, auditing & oversight of analytical testing performed in control rooms.Training of new food safety and quality chemists, analysts, operators, technicians and personnel from other functional areas.Handle basic issues and problems under indirect supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.Other duties as assigned QualificationsMinimum QualificationsDiploma/Certificate or Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experienceAble to work on rotating cycle shift (day and night 12 hours shift), including holidays and weekendExperience working in a laboratory, taking samples, on data analysis management and maintenance of instrumentationExperience working in a fast pace environmentMust be legally entitled to work for Cargill in CanadaPreferred QualificationsAbility to adapt and learn in a changing work environmentExperience with email, spreadsheet and word processing applicationsExcellent communication and presentation skills both verbal and writtenStrong analytical skills to evaluate change factors and formulate independent decisionsAbility to anticipate, recognize, and seek process and laboratory problems, implement improvements based on the findings#LI-KA2 Position InformationRelocation assistance will not be provided for this position.Cargill is an equal opportunity employer and committed to providing accommodation to our job applicants with disabilities.Quick Apply
