A key member of the plant management team, the Production Manager will build and maintain relationships with plant staff and, in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Lead, ensure implementation of the Feed Assure™ and quality assurance programs, planned and preventative maintenance programs, and all Health & Safety initiatives within the facility.Your day-to-day activities will include:Ensure appropriate production staffing levels to meet requirements of facility (3 shifts, 5 to 6 days per week and production staff vacation scheduling, timely posting of work schedule);Meet regularly with production management team / production staff; facilitate resolution of issues/problems between departments;Scheduling production around maintenance requirements;Coordinate with Order Desk / Feed Plan Coordinator for production forecasting (like feeds/longer runs);Maintain safe workplace for all employees including training of all production employees in Feed Assure, Regulatory, Health & Safety, production processes;Operating within company policies to manage performance corrections;Monitoring production facility performance against set key performance indicators;Ensure Plant and property are clean, tidy and in good repair;On call – after hours contact for plant/equipment issues.The successful candidate should enter the position with the following qualifications:College diploma in engineering, industrial technology, agriculture or related field, or equivalent experience;An agriculture background with knowledge of feed ingredients and medications, good manufacturing practices and mechanical aptitude;Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on plant and business processes;Ability to identify key issues, overcome internal challenges or obstacles creatively and strategically;A clear and solid understanding of personnel policies, practices, procedures and other operational issues faced by the organization;A high level of integrity, confidentially and accountability;Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization and execution skills;On call availability for after-hours production related and customer service emergenciesTo apply or learn more visit us at www.parrishandheimbecker.comWe thank all applicants, but only those selected for an interview will be contacted.New-Life Mills is committed to building a skilled and diversified workforce that is reflective of Canadian society.
