Job Description

Position: Vice-PrincipalLocation: Frontier Collegiate CampusStart Date: September 6, 2022FTE: 1.00 FTETerm of Employment: PermanentApplication Deadline: Wednesday, June 29, 2022Frontier Collegiate Campus provides a home for approximately 300 students from northern communitieswhile they attend high school in Cranberry Portage, Manitoba. Our students live in a college-style dormitorycomprised of eight dormitories. As a member of the campus leadership team, the Vice-Principal isresponsible for the overall administration of the dormitories.Cranberry Portage is a scenic “cottage country” community of approximately 1,000 people located 50 kmsouth of Flin Flon. Community services include a gas station, health centre with ambulance service,community recreation centre and arena and regular air service (Flin Flon & The Pas).Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Education degree
  • Valid Manitoba Teacher’s Certificate (or eligibility for)
  • Master’s Degree in Education/Administration and/or Certificate in School Leadership would be an asset
  • At least five years of teaching experience
  • Previous administration experience would be an asset
  • Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life
  • Proficiency in a variety of computer applications in a network environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with parents, the community and foster parental involvement
  • Keen ability to identify and creatively solve problems
  • Ability to work in partnership with community agencies
  • Previous success with the development and implementation of short and long term school-based plans
  • Capacity to work in and respond to a demanding, fast-paced school environment
  • Ability to speak an Indigenous language would be preferred
