Temporary employees in this role will also receive an additional $0.58/hour in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay. Campuses are closed during the Christmas break (Dec 25 - Jan 1) which is unpaid time off.Description:Our Marketingamp; Communications team has career opportunity for an enthusiastic and outgoing individual, who has strong organizational skills and the ability to manage profiles on numerous platforms with superb attention to detail. We invite you to be a member of this dynamic team that has the ability to foster ongoing positive relationships across the college, and among the community at large.Under the direction of the Director of Marketingamp; Communications, the Communications Officer - Social Media is responsible for creating, reviewing, editing, and publishing optimized content (written, photographic, and videographic) for publication on NLC #39;s various communications channels, with a focus on social media. This position will also plan, conduct, promote, and evaluate a varied portfolio of marketing and recruitment events.During your workday, you will liaise with the various departments of the college to gather information appropriate for social media content. You will also create and publish content based on existing material and fresh content. You will also attend events of interest for the purpose of promoting NLC #39;s involvement. You may be called upon toquot;go live quot; on social media or plan posts within the editorial calendar. You #39;ll be expected to monitor the digital presence of competitors and join relevant conversations in social media. You #39;ll look for opportunities to promote NLC online, and you #39;ll provide information to prospective students and other stakeholders, both through social media and in-person interactions.This position is to backfill a current vacancy, until return of incumbent and may be located in either Dawson Creek or Fort St. John, BC.Qualifications:The ideal candidate will hold a diploma in a related discipline with a minimum of two years of experience in social media marketing, or as a digital media specialist, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Those candidates who have an in-depth knowledge of social media platforms and the type of content that performs best on different platforms, campaigns, advertising, and analytics, will be given preference. Knowledge of conversion rate and the role of social media in search engine optimization will be preferred.A valid Class 5 driver #39;s license is required.
