Job Description

Term of App #39;t: Temporary, Monday - Friday, 7 hrs/per day Start date: ImmediatelyReporting to: Director of Marketingamp; CommunicationsSalary:Classification 10, $27.96 - $28.83 per hour, as per BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Temporary employees also receive an additional $0.58/hr. in lieu of benefits, as well as having 6% vacation pay paid out with each pay.Description:We are currently searching for a skilled graphic designer who has the ability to join our marketing and communications team, on a term contract. The length of the contract will be dependant on the need to backfill for a current temporary vacancy.In this role, you will collaborate on, and design, a wide variety of materials across digital and traditional media, translating written or spoken ideas into brilliant creative ideas. You will be responsible for presenting those ideas, iterate graphics, illustrations, and publications, and ensure final designs are visually appealing and on brand.To be successful in this position, you will bring a creative flair and a strong ability to conceptualize visuals based on requirements, have a strong eye for aesthetics and visual composition, and show amazing attention to detail.Qualifications:Minimum requirements are a diploma in graphic design, visual communications, or related field, plus two years of professional experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.Demonstrable graphic design skills with a portfolio that showcases a strong understanding of design, image manipulation, layout, typography, and color.Fluency in Windows, macOS, and mobile environments, and experience in Adobe Creative Cloud, in particular InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, as well as developing templates for Microsoft Office required.In order to be successful in this role, you should have the ability to manage a variety of simultaneous projects within tight deadlines and have excellent organizational and time management skills, along with having strong interpersonal skills, mature judgement, and diplomacy.
