Job Description

Term of App #39;t: Jan 2025 - Jan 31, 2027 (50% release time)Reporting to: Associate Dean of Academicamp; Vocational ProgramsSalary:An annual stipend of $3,127.00, in accordance with BCGEU Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement.Description:NLC #39;s Health Sciences Department requires an additional half-time Chairperson. This is a two-year term position that carries half-time teaching release to be a co-chair who responsible for educational leadership within the Health Sciences programs for both the Dawson Creek and Fort St John campuses. The Chair will have responsibility for maintaining excellence in the department and for taking appropriate, timely action to foster the highest possible standards of teaching, scholarship, service, and student advising. The Chair also provides focus and direction to ensure the quality of programs, with responsibilities for leading the department in matters of curriculum, planning, assessment, regulatory oversight, and student affairs. The Chair coordinates and supports the personal and professional talents of the department members and assists them in functioning as an effective team.This position requires a consistent presence on campus, outside of scheduled vacation hours.Qualifications: Required:

  • Must be a current, regular employee of Northern Lights College,
  • Educational credentials appropriate for the program area,
  • Minimum of three years instructional experience at the post-secondary level in relevant programs; or a combination of relevant instructional and work experience over five years.
  • Experience in developing curriculum in relevant programs.
  • Completion of PIDP or enrolled with expected completion within next 2 years.
  • Demonstrable commitment to educational leadership,
  • Demonstrable excellence in written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrable excellence in team-building and consultative leadership.
