Job Description

Zagimē Anishinabēk is a progressive First Nations government, located around 22 KM Northeast of Grenfell Town in Saskatchewan. Zagimē Anishinabēk Goose Lake School serves the educational needs of less than 80 students from Prekindergarten to Grade 6 in split-grade classrooms.SUMMARY: Under the direction and guidance of the Education Services Manager, the School Bus Monitor is responsible for providing additional safety assistance on the school van service and transportation during the term for students.DUTIES:

  • Assist the school bus/van operator with the pick-up and drop-off of students.
  • Assist with keeping the children safe during the route by making sure all safety protocols are followed.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the transportation unit.
  • Attend bussing and school transportation meetings, seminars, and workshops.
  • Ensure that the student arrives inside their home safely with a parent or guardian.
  • Abide by the Education Bus Suspension Policy, informing parents and the supervisor of any suspensions, and report all incidents.
  • Assist students with boarding and exiting as required.
  • Provide a safe and welcoming environment for all passengers.
QUALIFICATIONS: · Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent; or a combination of education and experience.· First Aid / CPR Certification.· Ability to work independently.· Patient, helpful, and pleasant manner.· Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and own a reliable vehicle is preferred.· Submit a criminal record check with the vulnerable sector, and a pre-employment drug test prior to commencement of employment.Job Type: Part-timePart-time hours: 18 per weekFlexible language requirement:
