EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITYASSISTANT MANAGER, ACCOUNTINGCompany Name: Forest Protection LimitedAddress: Fredericton (Lincoln), New BrunswickEmployment Type: Permanent, Full-TimeForest Protection Limited is seeking motivated leader for a new position as Assistant Manager in the Finance Department. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the incumbent will be responsible to assist the Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day activities in the Finance Department, as well as analyzing financial performance through budgeting and forecasting.The Assistant Manager is responsible for the following tasks:

  • Detailed review of Accounts Receivable claims and invoices
  • Detailed review of HST returns
  • Detailed review of Payroll as prepared by the Senior Accountant
  • Detailed review of bi-weekly Payroll, Canada Life, and Blue Cross remittances as prepared by the Senior Accountant
  • Review month-end procedures performed by the Senior Accountant
  • Month-end corrective journal entries
  • Record and support accrual transactions
  • Review journal entries prepared by the Senior Accountant
  • Inform and assist with organizational budgets and forecasts
  • Monthly analytical analysis, budget-to-actual comparison and projections
  • Supervision and mentoring the Senior Accountant and Accounts Payable Clerk
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Undergraduate Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience working in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or any other related field
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication ability in English (ability to communicate in French considered an asset, but not required)
  • Proficient with MS365 and proven ability to learn new computer programs
  • Experience in a role involving leadership and collaboration
DESIRABLE SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
  • CPA designation would be considered an asset.

  • Friendly and professional demeanor
  • Well-developed organizational skills, with ability to accomplish deadlines
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Being legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Successful Criminal Record Check
  • Proof of Covid-19 vaccination
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English
  • Have a modern mobile phone capable of making phone calls and sending/receiving SMS and email
