EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITYOPERATIONS COORDINATORNumber of vacancies: 4Location: Fredericton (Lincoln), New BrunswickEmployment Type: Full time, Casual Contract (April – September)Number of Positions: 4Forest Protection Limited (FPL) invites applications for the position Operations Coordinator (OC) This position plays a unique and critical role in the safe operation of our aircraft and operations to support full spectrum forest health. Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager the OC will coordinate and assist in the collection, analysis, and dissemination of aerial and ground mission information.JOB DUTIESThe key job duties of this position are:

  • Review mission sheets, flight itineraries, operational flight plans, and journey logbooks from either the Chief Pilot, Team Lead, or Pilot-in-Command.
  • Advise on decisions to execute missions based on weather forecasts and current conditions.
  • Closely monitor weather conditions of local and deployed operations.
  • Utilize GIS software to follow missions for each aircraft and company dispatched vehicle.
  • Assist in the monitoring of aircraft in conjunction with the Department of Natural Resources and Energy Development (DNRED).
  • Input flight records data into an online database.
  • Collect and review data on aerial dispersion of pest management products.
  • Open, close, and run the Operations Centre daily in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Coordinate daily with deployed FPL Operations Centres.
  • Update the Senior Operations Manager on project progress and base activities.
  • Ensure project completion records are well maintained and up to date.
  • Maintain the Operations Centre log.
  • Manage and distribute resources in accordance with SOP (vehicles, GPS, radios, iPads, etc.).
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • A High School diploma and an equivalent combination of business administration, operations, or aviation experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; able to prepare clear, concise, and accurate correspondence, procedures, and other written material.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced emergency response company.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.) and computers.
  • Smartphone with up-to-date operating system.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • In the process of obtaining post-secondary education, or having already obtained a University Degree, College Diploma, or an equivalent certification.
  • Experience in project coordination.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with multiple stakeholders.
DESIRABLE SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented, ability to prioritize and be proactive.
  • Strong organizational skills.
Salary will be an hourly rate starting at 18$ per hour plus 4% vacation pay (based on an 8- hour workday, average 40-hours per week).ABOUT USForest Protection Limited (FPL) is the largest 702 aerial operator in eastern Canada.
