Job Description

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITYMission AnalystsCompany name: FOREST PROTECTION LIMITEDAddress: Fredericton (Lincoln), New BrunswickTerm: seasonalEmployment Type: full timeForest Protection Limited (FPL) invites applications for the services of up to four Mission Analysts. Mission Analysts work closely with Base Managers planning, analysing, and compiling mission data for aerial application flights. These will be summer positions (Late April – August 2023) assisting with our aerial application. FPL offers a diverse work environment that requires its staff to function in several different roles. Staff will initially be required to report to, and be based out of, FPL’s head office at the Fredericton Airport for orientation (approximately 1 week) but will be deployed on long-term assignments (up to 6 weeks) to satellite bases in Northern New Brunswick and Newfoundland.Job duties

  • Compile and analyze mission data.
  • Work with proprietary and ArcGIS based software.
  • Prepare mission sheets, flight itineraries, and hard drives for pilots prior to each session.
  • Set-up and tear-down deployed operations centers.
  • Ensure all files and data are meticulously organized and recorded.
  • Update FPL Operations Centre on daily progress and base activities.
  • Support aircraft loading operations if required.
Essential Qualifications
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Functional written & verbal communication in English
  • Must be knowledgeable with Microsoft Excel and proficient with computers.
  • Employee must provide CSA approved safety footwear (all other protective equipment will be supplied by FPL)
Asset Qualifications
  • Related work experience
  • Bilingualism (English and French)
  • A working knowledge of GIS software
  • Comfort working in remote locations for extended periods of time with poor (or no) cellular reception
  • Experience driving pickup trucks on logging / dirt roads
  • Pesticide license (if you do not possess one, FPL will provide training to acquire appropriate licensing)
  • Special consideration will be given to students enrolled in programs related to the job duties (i.e., forestry, aviation, survey/GIS, or biosciences, etc.)
Salary will range from $18/hour to $22/hour daily plus 4% vacation pay (min 40 hours per week) and will be determined based on a combination of work experience and progress through your program of study.If you are interested in working with us, please submit your resume on or before Dec 12th here.Quick Apply
