Job Description

Join the City of Medicine Hat as a Customer Service RepresentativeSeasonal, On-SiteAre you passionate about providing exceptional customer service and enjoy working in a dynamic, community-focused environment The City of Medicine Hat is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Customer Service Representatives for our Parks and Recreation facilities, including the Big Marble Go Centre, Crestwood Pool, Gas City Campground, and Outdoor pools. This unionized position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on our community members.We are currently hiring for summer positions running from June to August 2025. Applicants must be available for a minimum of 3 shifts per week (approximately 15+ hours weekly), with a focus on evening and weekend availability.Your key responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality service to patrons and pass holders by creating a welcoming environment, addressing inquiries and concerns with a receptive and responsive demeanor.
  • Manage facility access to ensure security and safety.
  • Handle Point of Sale transactions and performing daily cash reconciliations.
  • Process facility bookings, memberships, and program registrations.
  • Conduct product sales and maintaining inventory.
  • Keep accurate records of patron attendance and revenues.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure a safe environment.
  • Promote a positive image of our organization through professional communication.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance our services.
  • Assist with emergency procedures as needed.
What you bring
  • Strong people skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups.
  • Experience in front-facing roles and administrative tasks.
  • Proficiency in cash handling and Point of Sale operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with inventory maintenance and office software.
  • Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
  • Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent high school diploma.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • At least three (3) months of experience in customer service, including Point of Sale operations.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with Standard First Aid (Level C - CPR) certification.
  • A combination of relevant training and education may be considered.
