Job Description

JUNIOR RESEARCH ANALYSTSalary Range: $48,945 - $61,187 per year1.0 FTE Permanent PositionThe Simcoe County District School Board isseeking qualified applicants for the position of Junior Research Analyst.Reporting to the Manager of Research and Decision Support, the Junior ResearchAnalyst will be responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance ofall department databases to ensure that advanced analyses and other researchtasks can be completed by other members of the research team. The successfulcandidate will verify, organize, and complete preliminary data analysis whichwill be used to provide information to system leaders, school administrationand other board staff for impact analysis and data-driven decision making.Qualifications and SkillsRequired:

Three(3) year college advanced diploma or university degree in a relevant area, e.g.research and/or data analysis;
Post-graduatecertificate in the program area of Research Analyst (RAPP) or Analytics forBusiness Decision Making or equivalent certificate;
One(1) to two (2) years related experience, preferably in an education workingenvironment;
Workingknowledge skills with IBM’s Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS);
Advancedskills with database management software, e.g. Excel including Pivot Tables;
Experiencein building data collection tools with survey software, e.g. Survey Monkey;
Advancesskills in various software applications;
Excellentanalytical and problem-solving skills;
Excellentlevel of attention to accuracy and detail;
Abilityto work independently and communicate effectively on a team;
Excellentorganizational skills and time management;
Abilityto meet tight deadlines;
Abilityto maintain confidentiality;
Computerliteracy and ability to work with a variety of computer software programs, suchas MS Word, Outlook, etc.TESTING MAY BE REQUIRED DURING THE SELECTION PROCESS.This is a permanent position that works 12 months ofthe year. The compensation range for this twelve (12) month position is $48,945
  • $61,187 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This position
