Job Description

Our Human Resources team is committed to providing forward thinking, collaborative solutions in an efficient and client-focused manner to the Georgian Bay General Hospital’s leadership team and our staff. To ensure that we are exceeding expectations while remain focused on the Hospital’s strategic priorities we are expanding our team!An exciting permanent full-time opportunity to join the Human Resources team as our Learning & Development Specialist is available. We are seeking an energetic and dedicated professional who wants to make a difference at Georgian Bay General Hospital. Reporting directly to the Vice President, People, Culture and Chief Human Resources Officer, you will leverage your knowledge and expertise to play a pivotal role with leadership development, learning design and development, performance development, and employee engagement activities supported by the Human Resources team.Responsibilities

  • Support the Vice President People & Culture & CHRO with strategic execution in regard to learning and development at Georgian Bay General Hospital
  • Diversity Equity Inclusivity and Belonging support including arranging of speakers, sourcing of external supports, meeting preparation, agenda and minutes
  • Support Employee Engagement surveys through the creation and analysis of engagement surveys and support for action planning and monitoring based on the results of the surveys
  • Chair and Administrator of the Hospital Education Fund
  • Learning Management System Administrator designing and developing eLearning using an eLearning authoring tool and other interactive software
  • Analyzes and applies trends and best practices in learning (such as learning technologies or tools, instructional or visual design, accessibility, and user experience)
  • Designs, develops, and delivers programs that build employee and organizational effectiveness including those related to employee engagement, performance development, and leadership development
  • Provides input and continuous improvement recommendations pertaining to the hospital’s leadership development, and talent development
  • Georgian Bay General Hospital Lunch & Learn proposals and coordination – arranging facilitator, room logistics, and invitations etc.
  • Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results, and retraining requirements and track key performance indicators related to training, including LMS compliance
  • Creates, organizes, plans, and facilitates staff and volunteer hospital orientation, and supports on-going development of leadership orientation initiatives
  • Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback
  • Plan and facilitate team building activities as required in collaboration with leadership
  • Works collaboratively with leadership regarding employee learning plan creation and support during meetings
Job Requirements:Requirements & Competencies
  • Post-secondary education in Organizational Development, Human Resources or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 to 3 years of related work experience with demonstrated experience in supporting the implementation of talent management programs including leadership and employee development and organizational development programs
  • Experience in a unionized environment is an asset
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Suite and Surge Learning (or similar e-learning platforms)
  • Strong communication skills (written/oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Strong client focus with an awareness of and sensitivity to diversity
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Creative problem-solver
  • Excellent follow-through skills and proven ability to take initiative
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with strong multi-tasking and prioritizing abilities
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and operate with discretion in sensitive situations
  • Ability to adjust work schedule to accommodate organizational needs
  • Bilingual French/English is an asset
