• Excellent Communication & Computer skills
• Must have resided in Canada for a minimum of 5 years - since January 2023) and pass a CRC and Reliability to starting on-site
• Schedule: 0600-1800 - 2 week continental rotation, then 1800-0600 - 2 week continental rotation
• Pay rate: $20.00

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
• Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
• Licensing requirements are subject to province and/or local laws and regulations and will be required prior to employment.
• As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background check
• Display exceptional customer service and communication skills
• Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites
• Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
• Able to:

• Monitor and maintain Access Control Systems and CCTV system
• Patrol by foot the Raytheon ELCAN grounds at regular intervals to discourage prohibited acts, entry and to assist visitors, contractors with directions or any inquiries
• Work in compliance with the provisions of the OHSA, regulations, and internal policies and procedures
• General building security during closed areas
• Preparation of incident reports
• Respond to alarm situations such as fire, door breaches and CCTV alarms
• Maintain ledgers including visitor, keys, daily logs, and notebooks
• Operate and conduct all responsibilities pertaining to the Security Operation Centre (SOC)
• Maintain liaison with all emergency agencies including Police, Fire and Ambulance
• Crowd control
• Dispensing of first aid and CPR to all staff and guests
• Maintenance and control of lost and found, in conjunction with Reception
• Conduct investigations such as stolen items, occurrences where loss or damage has taken place, critical/serious injury and first aid
• Fire patrols and initiate facilities Fire Safety Plan when required
• Provide paging services for entire area within the facility, relaying messages and phone answering service
• Assist the Shift Supervisor and Security Manager in other duties as delegated or required by Health and Safety
• Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that Raytheon ELCAN requires, such as gloves, protective eyewear and safety shoes/boots
• Report to his or her supervisor any missing or defective equipment or protective device which could endanger any person
• Report to his or her supervisor, or Raytheon ELCAN any contravention of the OHSA, regulations, or the Raytheon ELCAN policies and procedures or any observed hazard
• Refrain from operating any equipment, machine, device or thing or otherwise working in a manner that may endanger anyone
• Know, understand and implement safe work practices and procedures
• Know, understand and employ established rules and procedures for handling materials, equipment and processes (e.g. reporting unlabeled containers, using proper lifting techniques, etc.) Ensure all movement of inventory utilizes appropriate and safe lifting practices
• Request that worn out or defective equipment be replaced
• Use all safety devices provided, ensuring optimum condition of devices and report any defects immediately to a supervisor
• Use equipment and materials only in the manner intended
• Report all injuries, incidents, hazards and unusual conditions immediately to supervisor
• Inspect workplace on a daily basis and report any hazards immediately to their supervisor
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures as related to your work area.
