Through our commitment to Responsible Care®, we take pride in our focus on safety and responsibility.Located at one of our Polyethylene Sites and reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidates will install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot industrial equipment and machinery.Responsibilities:Typical responsibilities include:Involvement in the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation and electrical equipment.Preventative maintenance and repairs to support safety, quality, environmental and production objectives.Maintain safety, housekeeping, and environmental standards in all day-to-day activities.Troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques using appropriate operating and technical inputs.Contribute to the Maintenance Services team by supporting the work systems.Create and maintain SAP notifications and work orders, assist with scheduling activities both in searching and end user - entered functional activities.Support regional resource pool and after hours support requests.Qualifications:The successful candidates will have a Red Seal Electrical certification in one of the following: 309A Electrician - Construction and Maintenance, 442A Industrical Electrician or 447A Instrumentation and Control Technician, along with sound instrumentation and electrical aptitude and technical knowledge with a minimum of 5 years recent and relevant experience in an industrial maintenance environment.Experience with process control instrumentation is an asset.Must be willing to attain additional Red Seal certifications as required.In addition, the candidates require:Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to function independently in a team environment.Excellent communication skills.Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and solid working knowledge of SAP notification, orders, and P/PM scheduling activities both in searching and user-entered functional activities.Working knowledge of engineering design specifications.Strong initiative with a demonstrated attitude toward safety, career development and continuous improvement.Ability to comply with all Responsible Care policies, procedures, and guidelines.Strong planning, organizing and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and be flexible to meet numerous deadlines.Ability to flex trade in other skills as defined by the job requirements.Capability to develop in-depth knowledge of the site equipment and processes.Ability to function with minimal supervision.Flexibility to work alternative work schedules in a 24-hour, 7 day/week operation.Participation in scheduled and unscheduled shutdown and turnaround activities.Location:The NOVA Chemicals Manufacturing East Sites are located near Sarnia, Ontario.
