We are seeking talented and passionate people who enjoy working in a collaborative, innovative environment to join our dynamic team.We are seeking Material Control Technicians to join our Warehouse Team at our Polyethylene plants located near Sarnia, Ontario. Reporting to the regional Warehouse Supervisor, the prime purpose of this position is to provide material handling support to the site to ensure materials are received, issued to end users and/or staged and delivered in a safe and efficient manner. This is inclusive of Cycle Counting for inventory accuracy.You Will Use Your Expertise To:Demonstrate a passion for Responsible Care performance excellence and alignment with NOVA’s values and culture.Offload trucks and inspect materials for defects and damages or quality issues.Accurately receive materials and distribute accordingly.Maintain accurate material locations.Perform daily Cycle Counts on inventory, investigate errors and problem solve discrepancies with appropriate site contact(s).Provide fast, courteous service to end users requesting materials ensuring system data integrity.Issuing of materials to meet the demands and schedule.Delivery of materials when required utilizing van or fork truck.Process material returns in accordance with material status.Collaborate with Customs Compliance to ship materials for the site in accordance with site procedures and Customs regulations and laws.Keep a clean and safe working environment.Optimize space utilization.Maintain Bulk storage, laydown and remote storage areas.Rotate through Issue Counter, Receiving/Shipping and Fork Truck/Delivery according to the established schedule.Exercise troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques using the appropriate procedures and technical inputs.What We Are Looking For:Minimum grade 12 education plus three to five years combination of applicable post-secondary with a focus on Business, CITT (Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation), APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) or SCMA (Supply Chain Management Association) and related warehouse experience.Strong Shipping and Receiving experience.Forklift certification preferred and will be required in the role along with an ability to operate hand truck, pallet jack and relevant warehouse equipment.Valid driver’s license.SAP experience considered an asset.Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).SharePoint experience an asset.Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to function independently in a team environment.Excellent communication skills.Ability to prioritize and organize tasks, attention to detail is essential.You Can Stand Out If:You are passionate about your work and put care and thought into all that you do.You are responsible and follow through with your commitments to others and to safety.You are innovative and are willing to challenge your biases when problem solving.You are collaborative , inclusive, and work well with others towards team goals.Additional Information:Relocation will NOT be considered for this position.Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience.This position alternates between physically demanding duties and computer work with requirements to lift up to 22kg.This position will work at site.The successful candidate is required to provide proof of a valid driver’s license.Why NOVA ChemicalsNOVA Chemicals’ flexible benefit programs are designed to meet the diverse needs of our employees, because when it comes to benefits, everyone has different priorities.
