Job Description

Serv-A-Yard has been serving the residents, industries, and businesses of the Sarnia-Lambton region since 1973. Every team member is key in achieving these goals. We are in need of a full-time Lead Hand/Technician 2 to complement our growing company. This well qualified individual must have computer skills, grounds maintenance and leadership experience. We are looking for a hardworking individual that can assign tasks, delegate work, and keep on a timeline.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Able to lead a crew of 2 or 4.
  • Exhibit leadership and effective communication skills.
  • Provide guidance for employees and ensure work is done properly.
  • Perform safety inspections on vehicles, equipment, and work areas.
  • Be familiar with a variety of lawn maintenance equipment.
  • Operate and maintain skid steers, landscape & snow removal equipment.
  • Oversee and direct crew.
  • Provide positive and negative feedback to crew when needed.
  • Ensure jobs are done on time and to the standard of the business.
  • Tending established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls.
  • Operate a variety of landscape equipment including riding lawnmowers and skid steers.
  • Maintaining a professional appearance.
  • Able to work outdoors in all temperatures, which may include heat. (temperatures above 100 degrees)
  • Know and abide by all safety rules and regulations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of landscape experience.
  • Experience managing, leading, and motivating staff.
  • Clean / acceptable drivers abstract.
  • No at fault motor vehicle incidents.
Pay
  • 19-21$/h
  • Bonus program
