Business Development Lead (B2B Fintech) - Cycles ProtocolFull TimeRemote (Canada, US, UK)About the Cycles TeamThe Cycles team at Informal Systems is part of a very early stage startup effort within the company that aims to deliver financial software solutions that improve businesses’ sustainability through reducing their cash flow needs. Our team consists of world leaders in liquidity-saving payment solutions for real businesses and the underlying science that makes this liquidity-saving possible.About the RoleWe #39;re actively seeking a Business Development (BD) Lead to spearhead our partnership initiatives, with a distinct emphasis on cultivating relationships with B2B Fintech partners. These partners, whose customers include SMBs, represent a strategic avenue for us to onboard users into our product. Potential partners may include invoice aggregators, accounting platforms, and lending products, among others.We seek a self-motivated individual who excels in ownership-driven environments. The ideal candidate will eagerly drive partnerships, sales, and business development initiatives, reinforcing Cycles #39; leadership in sustainable financial solutions.What sets us apartInformal Systems has a strong, collaborative, remote-first culture that prioritizes delivery of results, innovation and ownership. The Cycles business unit has deep economic, product development and software engineering experience. The company has deep theoretical and practical distributed systems experience outside of the business unit.What your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Lead the business development lifecycle in the B2B Fintech channel, including strategy/planning, pipeline development, prospecting, outreach, terms negotiation, contract drafting, and implementation.
  • Spearhead contract negotiations in collaboration with Fintech partners and cross-functional team members, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and terms that benefit all parties involved.
  • Hold revenue accountability across designated go-to-market channels, driving performance and maximizing revenue generation.
  • Collaborate closely with product and marketing leaders, serving as a trusted thought leader to inform and influence business strategies. This includes identifying customer pain points, addressing key product gaps, and exploring new commercial models to enhance overall business performance.
What we look for in a successful BD Lead:
  • 7+ years of business development experience within the Fintech sector (e.g., payments, accounting, invoicing, lending, banking). This is a senior-level position, necessitating substantial experience.
  • Demonstrated success in cultivating relationships with strategic partners and engaging with senior management within target organizations.
  • Proven expertise in negotiating intricate partnership deals, assuming overall responsibility for navigating product, go-to-market, commercial, and legal dimensions of agreements.
  • Familiarity with existing payment and invoicing services and technologies.
  • Sound comprehension of blockchain technology and its potential applications.
  • Entrepreneurial drive and enthusiasm for contributing to a dynamic, early-stage company.
  • Exceptionally self-motivated, capable of operating both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, adept at presenting to senior executives internally and externally across diverse settings.
