Job Description

The Director, Logical Access Governance and Operations is critical for the organization and will be responsible for leading a talented team, collaborate with stakeholders (internal/external auditors/Line 2/app teams) across the organization, drive adoption and advance our security posture by operationalizing our IAM controls and IAM service offerings.Our Ideal candidate will have strong technical background in IAM technologies and hands-on experience with leading a IAM governance and operations team, strong leadership and collaboration skills. You have experience in designing and operating IAM controls and associated technologies with continuous service improvement mindset. You have a strategic perspective and operate as a senior leader that influences business and company strategy.What you will do

  • Lead the definition, governance, operations and adoption of IAM standards and access controls across the organization. The IAM controls are associated with Identity Lifecycle administration, Privileged Access Management, Authentication and Authorization, Access Governance and Directory Services domains.
  • Lead the integration activities from IAM Operations perspective for all the M amp;A amp;D (mergers, acquisitions and divestiture) initiatives.
  • Participate and contribute in developing IAM Strategy and Roadmap across all IAM domains.
  • Lead the development of sustainable and efficient standard operating procedures for repeatable IAM operational tasks and improve our process maturity.
  • Simplify, streamline and modernize IAM processes, intake methods and operational procedures and continuously improve to cater to the evolving needs of the organization.
  • Lead IAM controls execution, testing and enforcement across the organization.
  • Be IAM SME for Internal Audit and Line 2 teams.
  • Lead IAM Reporting and analytics function.
  • Support regular operational metrics, KPI and KRI reporting requirements at different forums.
  • Provide day to day IAM technology support and operations.
  • Collaborate closely with multiple teams including vendors to deliver product/technology improvements and common reusable components.
  • Successfully define and implement operational engineering discipline.
  • Ensure service/platform instrumentation is in place for proactive monitoring, observability and responsive incident triage and resolution
  • Drive a high-performance culture for staff and promote positive culture change within the organization.
  • Build strong and trusted relationships with internal and external partners
  • Manage risk and compliance in accordance with Canadian and Global standards. Ensure alignment/adherence to enterprise technology standards, vendor management standards, and risk standards.

  • Ensure effective and efficient use of financial and people resources.
  • Identify and invest in opportunities (processes, training, systems) to enhance individual and team effectiveness 
What you will bring
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in business or computer science or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 10+ years experience in IAM domain with at least 3+ years in leadership role and 3+ years in IAM OperationsSolid background in access controls execution, enforcement and operations.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, standards, NIST, ISO27001, B-13, etc.
  • You can efficiently perform management tasks including incident response and escalations; vendoramp; contract management; infrastructure management and service resiliency; and service ownership
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with SSO/MFA, SAML, OAuth, WS-FED, OIDC, Kerberos, LDAP, NTLM, FIDO, PAM, IGA, Directory Services technologies, Mainframe, DBs, etc.
  • Track record for leading IAM Operations and continuously automating and improving the maturity score in sophisticated environments
  • Experience and exposure to Cloud IAM across AWS and Azure.
  • Strong presentation, communication and written skills and experience with interfacing with various committees, stakeholders and executives are required.
  • Strong consulting skills and ability to create a win - win outcome.
  • Experience with developing and implementing Key Risk Indicators (KRI) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for IAM service offerings.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-moving technology landscape and keep pace with latest thinking and new technologies
  • Track record of building and effectively managing large and diverse teams and putting the appropriate processes and infrastructure in place to drive growth
  • Demonstrate ability to formulate high level strategy, then convert it into a tactical plan and execute on that plan
  • Proven experience as a business-focused, credible leader in a large fast growing technology company
  • Drives results and changes processes to improve performance; creates a culture of accountability
  • Has a bias to action
  • Ability to use knowledge of industry, business, and systems to solve business problems
  • Ability to pivot and quickly change direction in response to changing priorities
  • Experience coaching and mentoring technical practitioners
  • Strong communication, collaboration and relationship building skills
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain collaborative business relationships
  • Experience working in financial services industry will be an asset
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, etc. will be an added advantage
  • Computer Science, Engineering background will be an asset
